Eight rules to become a great lobbyist
It's not easy to become great. But you can't even be good if you do not respect some rules. Here are height guidelines for you to improve your lobbying skills. I challenge you to practice them.
Know how Eu policymaking is done
That’s a give: all lobbyists or advocates in the bubble know how it’s done. Without it, you cannot hope to achieve great things. You need to understand how it all works to contact the right people at the right moment, leverage your friends and allies before the deadline.

…but don’t overdo it
Don’t be a nerd. - or rather: be a nerd but don’t bore people with it. There is other stuff to know and do other than EU policymaking to advance your campaign. Yet, they fail to see that lobbying is more than just that. It is also communication, networking, and opportunities. As I wrote earlier, Advocacy=Policy+Communications.
Learn how to craft compelling narratives
Now on to Communications. This is a handy skill that will help you greatly.
Your clients or employer have an objective. It could be for legislation to limit the use of a certain product, forbid a certain practice, or encourage a particular innovation. But that’s very bland, and you can’t go to policymakers and tell them that if they agree to what you ask, you’ll make your employer or client happy.
No. You have to appeal to your interlocutor. Craft a narrative that they will believe in and help you achieve.
